Revive and Restore half day Retreat with Afternoon Tea of home made sandwiches and cake prepared by the Abbey chef.

The Gift of Well-being in January.

Your start of self care for 2026.

A beautiful day of relaxation techniques. Join us.

Myself and Heather invite you to step into the beauty of Whalley Abbey, The ruins and Ancient Great Hall where centuries-old stones echo with stories of solitude, sanctuary, and spirit. Beneath arched windows and weathered walls, a gentle glow of candlelight beckons you inward. The space is hushed—sacred—cradling your senses as time seems to pause.

Nestled within this ancient setting, Nordic Shield Mindfulness will guide you through simple but elegant mediations for breath and body to relax and reconnect. Later in the day we will create a unique soothing sounds with rhythms of the Nordic Ocean Drum in the beautiful great hall.

As the light fades…

The atmosphere is softened with furs, flickering lights, and natural textures, grounding you while guiding you toward a deep inner stillness.
As the tones rise and fall, you feel the abbey breathe with you. The energy of the space becomes a shield—one forged from history, harmony.
You are invited to surrender. To be still. To receive.

This is not just a mindfulness – it’s a return. A return to yourself, held by the wisdom of ancient stones and the pulse of sound. Closing the day with a sense of peace as you return home to yourself.

We welcome you to come and support your health and well-being at the start of 2026

Whalley Abbey Sound and Mindfulness Evening

About the Evening

A sound bath in an ancient abbey is an otherworldly experience—like stepping into a realm where time dissolves and sound becomes sacred. The abbey, with its weathered stone walls and high vaulted ceilings, naturally amplifies and carries every tone, transforming it into a rich, immersive atmosphere.

As you lie or sit in the ancient great hall the air fills with the gentle resonance of  our gong and crystal bowls chimes, and ethereal vocals. The vibrations ripple through the centuries-old space, echoing off arches and stained-glass windows, wrapping around pillars and drifting into shadowed alcoves. You feel the sound, not just hear it—it moves through your body, calming the mind and stirring something ancient in your bones.

Candlelight flickers against the abbey’s worn carvings, and perhaps a shaft of light filters through a rose window, illuminating motes of dust like drifting stars. The stillness of the sacred space, combined with the resonance of healing frequencies, makes the experience feel ceremonial—like a kind of spiritual tuning, ancient and intimate.

It’s not just a meditation. It’s a communion with history, silence, and vibration—an invitation to surrender, remember, and simply be.
