Whalley Abbey Retreats

In our modern lives the readily available distractions of work, worry, and constant thinking of the next moment raise our stress levels and impact on our body and mind. We are living that moment but the right one.This lack of control over our thoughts causes many problems resulting in illnesses like depression, anxiety and panic to name but a few.The retreat will teach us to use powerful skills needed to live in the present and how learning can really change our lives and the way we deal with everyday living.This really brings us a sense of freedom.

10.am Arrival with Drinks

The morning will comprise as follows
Your time for self care

Leading us into the present moment a beautiful gilded meditation with time for reflection and questions.

A mindful time to sit in the beautiful grounds of the Abbey or walk with the monks of the past and feel the serenity of the walls.

Learning how to bring compassion to yourself empowering strength and resilience. Then for others around you, as you begin to embed new skills with a guided meditation. 

Let Go. Holding on to things will create suffering. We can learn to let go and be aware of the present moment and how beautiful it is. We will learn a beautiful meditation with periods of silence.

Empowerment. How to come out of your head and back into your body .

How new techniques can calm down the busy and chattering mind exploring why we think this way this does wonders for our nervous system.

Lunch 1pm till 2pm

Afternoon

Mindful Movement actually learning a new walking skill and the amazing feeling on a walk you take for granted every day in the grounds.

Meditation 

Discussion on the Powerful tool of Mindfulness and fundamental techniques to help you understand and grow new coping skills.

3pm onwards light drinks

Time to reflect and embed these new skills guided with meditation.

Discussion and time for questions as we close towards the end of the day to finish in silence in the beauty of the abbey, its peace and empowerment.

Access to each online class whether video or live stream is per person – links and passwords to our online events are not to be shared.
Video recording, social sharing or downloading are not permitted unless discussed prior.

Full payment is required at the time of booking of each online class/course.  We will give a full refund for cancellations received up to 24 hours prior to the start of the class. However, fees are non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of the start of the class.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any class as circumstances dictate.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or to ask someone to leave a class/course who we feel is putting themselves or others at risk.
